Ukrainian lawyer searching for job opportunity in the UK

Eugene is a Ukrainian lawyer and arbitration trustee with a Masters degree. He and his family left the Ukraine due to the current war, arriving in the UK in April 2022 through the Government’s Homes for Ukrainians scheme. Eugene was introduced to Sherbornes Solicitors by his sponsors, Joanne and Andy Marshall.  He was given the opportunity to gain two weeks’ work experience at Sherbornes.

During Eugene’s two weeks with the Sherbornes Solicitors’ team he gained legal experience, including shadowing solicitors, participating in client meetings and helping prepare employment tribunal bundles.  Eugene also assisted with an array of corporate matters, prepared legal documentation relating to buying and selling companies and their registration, including, but not limited to, board minutes, Companies House forms, directors resignation letters.

In the Ukraine, Eugene was a court lawyer with more than 10 years’ legal experience, he specialised in arbitration, banking, commercial, civil and criminal law, and legal collection of debts. Eugene took the lead in, and successfully completed, several large complex law projects.

Trula Brunsdon, Legal Director with Sherbornes, commented:

“Eugene is proactive, ambitious and hardworking. He is currently looking for a job as a Paralegal, as he plans to stay in the UK on a permanent basis. In the near future Eugene is hoping to pass the Solicitors Qualifying Examination and gain necessary qualifications to continue working as a Solicitor in England.  Observing Eugene in the office at Sherbornes Solicitors, we believe that he will succeed in his plans to re-train as a solicitor in the UK”.

Any local firms wishing to contact Eugene about a Paralegal opportunity can contact Sherbornes in the first instance via reception@sherborneslaw.co.uk and we will put you in contact.
