Closure of Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) Rebate Scheme

Closure of Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) Rebate Scheme

It will not come as a surprise that with the announcement of the Living with Covid plan and the end of the legal requirement to self-isolate, the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) Rebate Scheme will be closing.

Businesses will be able to claim for Covid-19 related absences up to and including 17 March 2022 and will have until 24 March to submit or amend a claim.

After the closure of the scheme, the normal SSP rules will apply meaning that SSP will be due from the fourth qualifying day that an employee is absence.

For businesses needing to make claims, the portal to do so is here.
